About Us

Blessings in a Backpack provides food on the weekend to children who might otherwise go hungry.  The kids we serve rely on meals they receive during the week at school but what do they eat on the weekend?  Most of them go 65 hours with little or nothing to eat but that's where we come in.  Blessings in a Backpack provides a bag of food every Friday so kids return to school on Monday full, focused, and ready to learn.

The Blessings in a Backpack Louisville Chapter is currently feeding over 5,700 kids in 48 JCPS schools.  However, there are more than 64,000 kids in Louisville who need our help now more than ever and with your support, we can increase the number of kids we feed right here in your community.
